Concussion or Virus…

…That is the question. Camden went to a play date on Sat and got hit on the nose. It bled for a few minutes and we didn’t think about it again until Sunday afternoon when he complained of dizziness and he was uneasy on his feet. We took him to the ER where they said he had a concussion but all labs and scan were clear. They sent us home. Mon morning he still wasn’t steady on his feet so I scheduled an appointment for him to see his pediatrician. She isn’t 100% sure but feels it might be more of a virus and the bonk on the nose was a coincidence. He stayed home yesterday and by the evening he was flying his Lego ship around the house on missions.

We sent him to school today. It was a very difficult drop off. He screamed and cried for me. It really broke my heart to have to leave. It is so hard to make him do something he doesn’t like, and he has 13 years of this!

I did have a friend at the school peek in on him and he was sitting at his table coloring and chatting with a friend so everything seems to be alright now. I dread drop off time!

We are so happy to hear that Camden is feeling better and is back at school. We are praying that he has a good week at school and that he does better in music class this week.

I’m pretty sure he won’t be screaming for you by the time he’s a Senior. 😉

This too shall pass. Tell him Grandpa Don is proud of him for being in school.

I wonder if children can suffer from Benign Positional Paroxysmal Vertigo (BPPV). I have that occasionally and Daryl had it after he got hit on the head. Google it to see what it is. It’s very annoying. I just got over a bout that lasted about 3 months, but I did the Epley maneuver a couple weeks ago and it finally took care of it (for now). Hope he’s all right.

Your dad is right; he won’t cry over school for long. Stay brave, Heather!

I wish I could hug my little girl and make her believe that her little boy will be alright. He will learn to love school. He is so bright and inquisitive. He will soon be excited about all things educational. His stories will make you smile. Make sure you are keeping track of this “trauma” in his baby book – you will look back and laugh.

Love you – hope to see you tomorrow.
