Meet The Teacher

Camden met his Kindergarten teacher this evening. Mrs. Roberts will be teaching him this year. She has been at the school for a long time and has lots of teaching experience. I am so excited for him!

He got to write his name on a name tag and he picked where he was going to sit on Monday morning. He came right in his room and got to work and was quite the big boy! He has a “Special” everyday and 2 on Thursday. They include the basics (music, art, library, PE) but two others that sound quite cool (math investigations and discovery science). I think Friday will be his favorite day because that is Discovery Science day.

My only complaint is that they eat lunch at 10:20 in the morning just 90 min after arriving at school. To compensate they have a planned snack everyday at 1:45. I hope it will be ok for him. He will adjust I am sure!

The boys are going to Pine with their Gran and Granpa. One last getaway before school!

Why do they eat at such an early time?

The school is K-8 and so they have a lot of lunches to fit in the day.

I’m sure that things are exciting in your house tonight. Camden will come home with many tales of new and interesting things. Mom will have a lump in her throat – maybe a tear in her eye. I will be thinking of you all. With love……..

Maybe a tear in my eye? MAYBE?!! I am bringing an extra box of Kleenex and planning to reapply my make up! 😉

That is ridiculously early for lunch. Do they provide the snack or do you have to pack that? I think I would send 2 small lunches if he’s going to eat at those times. I suppose for children who don’t get a healthy breakfast at home, the early lunch is a benefit for both the kids and the teachers. That will help them get going for the rest of the day.

Happy school days! Now, if you can just make it three more years until Carsten starts school, then you’ll have FREEDOM! Yay!! I remember longing for the day my kids would be in school all day. Although, poor me … I was always babysitting other pre-schoolers. 🙁
