Seveta the Beta

Yes, we now have a fish in our house! We went to the Pet Store to pick up some dog food and the boys love the fish! The short of it: We already had a small tank and betas were on sale. He is a deep red with blue accents and seems very happy in his new home! Camden gave him his name, as you might be able to tell, he likes rhyming right now!

Beta’s are very awesome and forgiving pets. We had our two for a couple years, they lived through a couple days of forgetting to feed them. I hope yours is active, they look so cool floating through the water.

Is fish oil good for old dogs? Maybe he would make a good vitamin snack for Bailey.

I bet he would love a friend. You should put another one in the tank! 😉

I’ve always loved the colors in Betas. It will be a great learning experience for the boys.

What a morbid and sick group you all are!! The tank has a lid! Kitty safe!

I was just hoping Kenzie wouldn’t get him. I wasn’t being morbid.

And what’s mean about Don’s comment? Why shouldn’t you put another Beta in the tank? Do Beta’s not get along?

They are also called Siamese Fighting Fish. No, Betas don’t get along. At least the males.

If you put two male beta’s in the same dish, they will kill eachother. If you put a female beta in with a male and they don’t like eachother, she’s shred his fins, and he’ll die of infection. Or he’ll just kill her. They are just much better to keep seperate. But females play well together.

Can we see a picture of him? Good choice on the kind of fish. IMO betas are the easiest fish to take care of.

I would love to post a picture of him, but until we purchase a new camera or a new battery we do not have a camera.
