Camden’s First Day of School

Camden started preschool today. He is attending the special needs preschool in our district as a peer pal. That means we have to pay tuition for him to go. It was an interesting first day. Mark had to chase after him as he ran away from the door. He threw a fit when we left but as soon as we were gone he did well. He had a great day with the exception of one time out. He chose to not help clean up before circle time. His teacher gave him lots of chances but he refused. I hope that this will set the bar and he will know what is expected of him. He wouldn’t really pose for a picture or even touch his backpack. I hope that Thursday will be smoother!

This is good practice for you. When he goes off to kindergarten next year, you won’t even bat an eye.

He’ll be a great peer pal. He knows how to do that well with all his practice with Lauren. Hope he has fun.

I wonder if tomorrow will be better, or whether he has decided that he has been to all the school that he needs.
Next year will be so easy for all of you.

I forgot to mention that I cried as I left the room and I had a friend of mine check on him after I dropped his Epi-Pen off at the nurse. She came back and said he was doing great!

He’s going to do great once he realizes what the routines are and what’s expected. (And you’re going to be fine, too!)

I remember your first day of school like it was yesterday. He will be fine. Once he knows the routine and gets to have some new buddies, he will be running TOWARD the classroom instead of AWAY. Love you all
