Bitten by a bug…

…a Flu bug that is. We had been keeping Carsten out of the church nursery because every time he went in there this winter, Monday night/afternoon he would get sick. It seemed like he was sick from Nov to Jan. At that time we decided to fore go the nursery and we kept him with us. Well, last week we thought we had passed the critical “sick season” so back to the nursery he went. Wouldn’t you know that at dinner Monday night he puked! Yuck! So he had the stomach flu and ran a low temp through Wed, when who wakes up that night  crying…CAMDEN! Yep, he started puking at 10:30pm and continued off and on through the morning. I joined in the fun starting at midnight. Mark got an upset tummy too, but thankfully, never threw up. He was able to get the afternoon off from work, and some how we made it through Thursday. What a yucky day! We are all feeling much better today, and even ate food with color!

We have a mellow weekend planned. Nothing too exciting. Mark is going to play golf on Sunday and we will just hang out tomorrow. Needless to say, Carsten won’t be back in the nursery anytime soon!

I hope you are all feeling well!

PS: Donna you inspired me to change our theme!

That’s really rotten news. Was Camden in the same nursery those days that you kept Carsten in Church? I know that you don’t take your kids when there is a possibility that they might have something contagious. But, to be fair, maybe the child who exposed him didn’t show symptoms until he got home.
I almost called Mark a few days ago, with my aching back; I guess I’m glad that I didn’t now. Anyway, today it feels the best that it has since Sunday; probably it was one of those things which will take care of itself if you give it long enough.

Same nursery different room. I know it is hard to tell when little ones are getting sick until they are actually sick. I am just very frustrated with the whole thing!

Glad your back is feeling better!

Your blog is looking very spring-y! 🙂

It’s sure hard to deal with constantly sick kids. On the bright side, remember each time they fight something off, they build some immunities for the next time they are exposed. I know that’s not a lot of comfort when it seems they are exposed to different things over and over again.

It won’t be too many years until Camden, at least, can make it to the bathroom to puke. Robin was very happy when Megan got to that point. About 5 or 6, I think.

Take care. Hope you’re all on the mend soon and can enjoy this beautiful weather!

When I was working in a drop off care parents would bring their kids in no matter what. We had two types of parents. Those that cared about not exposing other kids, and those that just didn’t care anymore. We had some parents bring their kids in when they were staying home sick from school. As soon as we found out we would always send them home. Sometimes that was to late.

Well, you know what they always say:

Haven’t heard from you in a long time;I hope it’s just because you are busy, and no one is sick again.
